BUSINESS Entrepreneurship-Pathway to Success (W 6:30-8:30pm - 6 weeks, March 3 - April 7) $99 . Accelerated Class This course is for the Entrepreneur who has a business idea or passion and wants to know how to get started or for the Entrepreneur who has just started a business. This is a "real time" class with open discussions about real life small business situations. eBay Trading (W 6:00-8:00pm - 4 weeks, Feb 24-Mar 17) $64. Learn how to buy and sell effectively on eBay, the world's largest auction and online marketplace. Taught by a successful eBay Seller, this workshop will teach you everything you need to know to be successful including the new changes coming in March Accounting 1 (Tu. & Th. 6:00-8:00pm - 6 weeks, Mar 2-Apr 8) $199 Accelerated Class The students are taken through the changes in the accounting equation, debits and credits of T accounts, general journal, general ledger and eight column worksheet. Students will become familiar with accounting terminology and many of the procedures, forms and records used in business today. COMPUTER APPLICATIONS iPod 101 (Tu. 6:00-9:00pm - 1 night Mar 2 or Apr 6) $29. Did you get an iPod for the holidays? Maybe you have it still in the box from last year. Either way you will want to take this class. Two of our "Tech Kidz"will have you up and running by the night's end. Who better to learn from than our top technology students? Basic Computer Skills (M 3:30-5:30pm - 6 weeks,Mar 8-Apr 12) $99. This is a basic beginner class for the novice and/or seniors who have very little or no computer expertise at all. This course will start with the very basics of computer skills and bring you up to using online programs like emailing. QuickBooks 1 (M & W 6:30-8:30pm - 5 weeks , Mar 15 - Apr 14 ) $189 includes textbook and flash drive. Learn how to easily set up QuickBooks for your company, post income and expense transactions, and balance sheet transactions, balance a check register using QuickBooks and generate and interpret basic financial statements. Word (M & W 6:00-9:00pm - 2 weeks, Mar 15-24) $119 includes textbook. Master the basics of the world's most popular word processing software in this class designed especially for beginners. You'll start with the fundamentals; opening, saving, and creating new documents. Then learn how to cut, copy, and paste; change margins and add tabs; format text to make it look the way you want. PowerPoint & Publisher (M & W 6:30-8:30pm 4 weeks, Mar 1-Mar 24) $169 includes textbook. Create dazzling, attention-grabbing presentations with PowerPoint, a program that enables users to add images, motion, sound, and even movies to presentations. In this hands-on class, you'll learn to choose and create basic designs, animate your presentation, add speaker notes, and edit the final product. This course is designed to introduce you to the world of graphic design and desktop publishing using Microsoft Publisher. Learn to create ads, flyers, menus, newsletters, and more. Excel (M & W 6:30-8:30pm - 3 weeks, Mar 29-Apr 14) $119 includes textbook. Learn the basics of Microsoft Excel to create a spreadsheet, add formulas, charts, diagrams and more. Bring Old Memories to the 21st Century Adobe Photoshop (W 6:30-8:30pm - 6 weeks, March 3 - April 7) $179. Preserve them before you lose them. This course will teach you to scan and manipulate your old photos or your newer digital ones. You will learn to create new images, cover layers, palettes and other tools with Photoshop. It is helpful to have basic computer knowledge. You do not need to be familiar with Photoshop. Beginners welcome. Web Design (Th. 6:30-8:30pm - 10 weeks, classes begin Feb 24) $179. This beginner's course will prepare you to create a well formatted standard html template using Dreamweaver. Learn to create your own website with an html template that you created and much more. Prerequisite: Basic computer and internet knowledge. "New" Intro to YOUR Computer Hardware (3 sessions Th. March 11 3:30-8:30pm, Sat. March 20 9:00am-2:00pm, and Wed April 21 9:00am-2:00pm $99 includes materials. This course provides students with an overview of the core aspects of computer hardware, software, system upgrades and basic driver installation. You will start with a brief overview of the hardware in your own personal system to the installation of a fresh copy of Windows XP, Antivirus and your system drivers. Bring your own system or use ours.
GED GED Preparation Class (Tu &Th 5:30-8:00pm 10 weeks, classes begin Mar 16) $229. If you are not a high school graduate, job opportunities are very limited. A high school degree can mean the difference between a good paying career and a minimum wage job. This class is a program of study to assist students in preparing for the GED test. Academic review includes preparation for the academic tests in social studies, science, math, literature and writing. PARENTING Giving Kids the Tools for Successful Learning (Th. 7:00-9:00pm - 1 week, April 8) $15 ($20 - couple). This one night practical workshop is a must for parents of elementary school age students. Tools, strategies, and techniques will be provided to help your child successfully adjust to school and become lifelong learners. If you want to know what you can do to insure your child's success, this class is for you. COOKING Eating Healthy on a Budget (W 6:30-8:30pm 6 weeks Mar 3-Apr 7) $99 Do you want to eat healthy but don't know where to start? You will have a plan by the end of this class. Cake Decorating (W 6:30-9:30pm - 7 weeks, Mar 17-May 5) $205 includes all materials . Learn the fundamentals of baking and decorating cakes. You will learn the techniques of icing flowers, borders and arrangements from beginning to intermediate. The final class will cover how to tier a wedding cake. Chocolate Sensation (Tu. 6:00-9:00pm - 2 weeks, April 6 and 13) $55. Chocolate lovers beware; we will take your love of chocolate to the extreme. Create a one-of-a-kind piece of edible art that tastes as good as it looks. We will incorporate modeling chocolate, chocolate transfer sheets, silicone molds and more. Cookie Decorating (Tu. 6:00-9:00pm - 2 weeks, Mar 23 and 30) $55. When is a cookie not just a cookie? When it is your own creation! Learn how to create a template and plan your design. The perfect gift or holiday treats. Cupcakes (Tu. 6:00-9:00pm - 2 weeks, Mar 2 and 9) $55. A sophisticated take on an American Classic, yes the cupcake! We will create exciting cupcake themes, from birthdays to seasonal holidays, to everything in between. Be inspired, find innovative ideas and discover the fun! Rolled Fondant (Tu. 6:30-9:00pm - 2 weeks, Apr 27 & May 4) $65 includes all materials. Learn hands on techniques of rolled fondant cakes. Supplies included are rolled fondant and tools. The first night the instructor will demonstrate and give a list of the items you need to bring to the second class. Some cake decorating knowledge required. Bring home a finished cake. HEALTH AND SAFETY Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (BLS) (Tu. Mar 2 or Tu. Apr 13 - 5:30-9:30pm 1 night) $59. Designed for those employed as health care providers. This course follows the American Heart Association program. Students successfully completing the class will receive a card issued by the American Heart Association. Adult Heart Saver First Aid with CPR & AED (Tu. & Th. Feb 23 & 25 or Mar 23 & 25 - 6:00-9:00pm 2 nights) $79. Designed for parents, teachers, child care workers, or emergency response teams in business. The course will cover basic First Aid, medical emergencies, injuries, CPR and AED use.
Heart Saver, CPR with AED (Tu. Feb 23 or Tu. Mar 23 - 6:00-9:00pm - 1 night) $59 . Designed for parents, teachers, child care workers, or emergency response teams in business. The course will cover CPR and AED use.
Heart Saver Pediatric First Aid (M & W Apr 5 & 7 - 6:00-9:00pm - 2 nights) $79. Designed for parents, grandparents, and those involved in child care who have a duty to respond to a first aid emergencies. The course will cover pediatric first aid basics, environmental emergencies, injuries, asthma care training and adult/child CPR and AED.
OSHA 10 Hour Construction Safety Course (Th. 5:30-9:00pm - 3 weeks, Feb 25-Mar 11) $89. Students will cover OSHA policies, procedures and standards, as well as construction safety and health principles. OSHA requirements that address some of the leading hazards associated with construction sites will also be covered: Electricity, Material Handling, Stairways & Ladders, Scaffolding, Steel Erection, Trenching & Excavation, Construction Motor Vehicle Safety and Personal Protective Equipment. This course meets the requirements for public construction jobs in Massachusetts. Upon successful course completion, each student will receive an OSHA construction safety and health 10-hour course completion card. No materials charge.
ServSafe® Certification (W 5:00-9:00pm 2 weeks) $159 includes book and exam- 2 sessions offered: Mar 24 & 31 or Apr 7 & 14. Recertification (Feb 24 4:30-9:00pm) $99. ServSafe is a comprehensive food sanitation training program recognized by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Participants will learn the principles and practices of food safety to reduce the incidence of food borne illness and to improve food quality. This course is designed for the restaurant and school food service industry. Successfully passing the final exam qualifies students for certification with the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation and helps to put businesses in compliance. Lifeguard Training (M-Th. 3:00-6:00pm Sat. 9:00am-3:00pm). Three 2 week sessions offered: March 1-13th, or April 26-May 8, or June 14-26. $235. Recertification class (May 14 or May 28, 6:00-9:00pm) $50. This course teaches the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. If you are 15 or older and looking for a great summer job or a challenging career that's in demand, American Red Cross Lifeguard certification is the place to start. HOBBIES AND CRAFTS Beginner Sewing (W 6:30-8:30pm - 6 weeks, Mar 10-Apr 14) $99. In this beginner's class, students with little or no sewing experience will work on an easy pattern that they may select after the first class. Machine threading, bobbin winding, stitch techniques, and maintenance will be demonstrated. With hands-on practice, you'll become more competent interpreting pattern instructions. Bring your own machine and its manual or use our machines. Creative Metalworking (Tu. & Th. 6:00-9:00 pm - 3 weeks, Mar 15-Apr 1) $199 includes all materials. An 18 hour course designed to encourage creativity and artistic expression through metals. Basic techniques in sheet metal work, soldering, brazing and forming various types of metal. Students will have the opportunity to design and complete a project or two in class. Crochet (M 6:30-8:30pm - 6 weeks,Mar 1-Apr 5 $99. L earn to crochet and more. Start with basic single crochet and graduate to double crochet. Make "granny square" projects and others while working at your own pace. Learn basic techniques and there's no end to projects you can create. Create a beautiful scarf or an afghan using your knowledge of basic crochet stitches. The final project is up to you. Bring a size H hook and worsted weight (medium) yarn to the first class. Drapery Making (Tu 6:00-9:00pm - 8 weeks Feb 23-Apr 13) $199. Looking to update your window treatments? Maybe you are interested in starting your own window treatment business. This class will start you off. You will learn tips and techniques as well as improving your sewing skills. Different treatments will be discussed however; you will decide the drapery you want to construct. Prior sewing knowledge is required. Jewelry Making 101 (M 6-8 pm - 6 weeks Mar 22-May 3) $109 (includes materials for 1st class) Learn to create beautiful jewelry in just six weeks; from earrings and necklaces to beautiful enhanced stemware in just minutes. You will have a better understanding of all the tools and accessories needed for this creative craft. Join the class. Join the Fun. Knitting (Tu 6:30-8:30 pm - 6 weeks, Mar 15-Apr 26) $99. This class is for you if you've never picked up a knitting needle or just need to review basics. We'll cover yarn types and gauges and you'll learn the fundamentals of knitting: casting on, knitting, purling, increasing, decreasing, binding off, and following a pattern. By the last class, you'll have a scarf and/or hat to show off. Bring a pair of size 8 knitting needles and a skein of worsted weight (medium) yarn to the first class. LANGUAGES Basic English (Th 6:30-8:30pm - 9 weeks class starts Feb 25) $145. A very basic level English language class for students who have little or no experience with English. Emphasis on developing speaking ability and comprehension in the context of everyday activities (such as shopping, going to the doctor or getting a job). Some time will be devoted to helping your children thrive in American schools. Provides a range of opportunities to practice and reinforce important vocabulary and key grammar.
TRADE AND TECHNICAL Home Maintenance (Tu. 6:00-9:00 pm - 6 weeks class starts Mar 9-Apr 13) $159. T his course will give you the know-how and confidence to tackle common home repair. The first night will cover hand tools and safety, plus what tools the homeowner should have. Electric understanding splices, replacing /installing, switches, receptacles and dimmers, and how to session on ceiling fans. Plumbing common sink and toilet repairs, drain lines and repairing leaky pipes, plus installing new faucets. Carpentry Sheetrock, repair/refinishing furniture repair, and installing decorative molding and chair rails. This "hands on course" will devote three hours to each discipline, leaving the last two sessions for supervised practice in the area of your choice.

It also covers basic soldering equipment maintenance and usage. Introduction to SMT Soldering Tu. 6:00-9:00pm-4 weeks Mar 30-Apr 20) $119 includes materials. This course introduces you to the basic surface mount components installation and removal soldering methods. It also covers the use of SMT equipment, maintenance and calibration, Resistors, Capacitors, IC, Transistors and other components.
